  • Personal Information: Email address and name (collected via Google Sign-in) used for account authentication and support.
  • App Data: Inventory details, item names, and photos. This data is stored locally on your device by default and is not accessible by PackSmart AI unless you use the manual backup feature.
  • Usage Data: Diagnostic information and crash reports used to improve app performance and stability.

2. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties. Data is only shared in the following instances:

  • AI Processing: When you use AI-assisted features, images or text are securely transmitted to third-party providers (e.g., OpenAI, Google Vision) for the sole purpose of analysis.
  • Cloud Storage: If you choose to back up your data, it is transmitted directly to your personal Google Drive account.
  • Legal Compliance: We may disclose data if required by law or valid legal process.

3. Security Practices

  • Encryption in Transit: All data transmitted between the app and our servers (such as account credentials) is encrypted using industry-standard protocols (SSL/TLS).
  • Hashed Passwords: We do not store plain-text passwords; all credentials are encrypted using secure hashing algorithms.
  • Local Sovereignty: Because your inventory database is stored locally, you maintain physical control over your most sensitive organizational data.

4. Data Retention and Deletion

  • Local Data: You can delete your local inventory at any time by clearing the app cache or uninstalling the app.
  • Account Deletion: You may request the permanent deletion of your account and server-side data (email and profile) through the app settings or by contacting support@packsmartai.app.

5. Transparency for Business Users

Business Users utilizing PackSmart AI to manage customer records are responsible for ensuring they have the necessary consent from their customers. PackSmart AI acts solely as a data processor for any information entered by a Business User regarding their clients.
